i think his point was that the rollover gives the wrong feedback for disabled 
items: if the item is disabled why does it appear to "activate" on mouse 
over; shouldn't it simply remain as is (e.g. greyed out and flat)?

perhaps this would be a(nother) good addition to KPopupMenu: the concept of 
menu items that belong together in groups. implementing it would be annoying, 
though =)
