I don't think it's very reasonable to release KDE 4.0 without a usable
desktop. It's pretty hard to do something like the KDE 3 - 4 transition
incrementally. I guess it's possible if you don't care about backwards
compatibility... Sure, it gains Gnome mindshare and commercial support. But
I doubt it's technically the smartest thing to do, at least for KDE.
I'm all for a release of 4.1 in 6 months, though, and maybe continue with
that for some time. But not too strict.
