Maybe splitting the brochure on this line would also
help:

- one to suit the developers, to go with 'KDE the
framework'

- and another one to suit users, to go with 'KDE the
applications'

It might also be helpful to say 'software suite'
instead of 'applications'. 'Applications' is just a
plural, it means that at least two things have somehow
got together. However the value of KDE applications is
greatly determined by the fact that the other apps are
KDE too, and that they run on a KDE desktop (these
affect everything from look'n'feel consistency to
performance to interoperability)

What should the brochure/s say? And what should the
posters say?

They should more than likely sport the same messages
as kde.org (especially the brochures) and the kde
slogan (especially the posters)
