Hmm, to me it seems once again to be something, like, trying to test two
different working platforms while trying to collect new arguments for
keeping Windows / upgrading to XP, there. Most of the things written in
the article at heise are (at least to me) sort of "we can not ask the
folks supposed to work there to get accustomed to a new working
interface", which is more or less a strange sort of discussion since
nobody actually took the time to compare the graphical user interface of
Windows NT (which I suppose is running there, right now) with the
bright-colored fun-desktop of Windows XP. People certainly will have to
learn how to work with the new software, no matter whether this will be
GNU/Linux + KDE or Windows XP. From that point of view, I think the
desktop discussion in this paper is merely useless.

To be very honest, even while wanting GNU/Linux to be there instead of
Windows XP, I am by heart afraid to have SuSE doing this job, here in
Germany. Some weeks ago I found a SuSE newsletter in my mailbox promoting
SuSE 7.3, and I remember pretty well what was written on the back of it:
"While bying Linux, insist on the market leader: SuSE!". I thought that,
after being with GNU/Linux instead of Microsoft Windows, we all took a
conscious decision of not trusting the power of a market leader, anymore?
I don't think this is a good thing, and same way I think it would be
better having a non-profit organization rather than a profit company doing
the support here, in this public field of view. Wouldn't be too good being
away from Microsoft just to be with another company in there, would it?
Just my Eur0.02 ...

Kris
