Yes, if you restart KNotes. If not, it will overwrite the modified ics. I'm 
working converting KNotes to use proper KResources and have a KDirWatch 
monitor the file so that even if KNotes is running the file won't be 
overwritten anymore.

Yes, e.g. the display settings like color and position. Even the Summary is 
initialized to a sane value if none is given (start date).
