Here is a comparison of korganizer in KDE-3.1.2 with HEAD, using an ics file 
which has 2859 entries:
3.1.2: VmData:    17404 kB
HEAD : VmData:    15724 KB

So this is quite some improvement, and I hope to see more in the future ;-)
