i had forgotten about the link between the name of the service and the 
automated loading of the operation definition. my objection was to not having a 
reason to set it .. well, we do evidently =)

and to make my defeat complete: we can't make it use the storageId either, as 
i suggested in that email (since we use the name to create another file name; 
the storageId woudl be a bit too unpredictable for the developer for that 
purpose)
