The buffer is no problem.:

- "ls -la" does not lock up the CPU for 0.5 seconds.
- The default kernel buffer size for /dev/dsp is 65KB (0.5 seconds)

So in theory there are no clicks when doing "ls -la".

But they are there.
But (up to now) _only_ on IDE/SBLIVE when using threads to access /dev/dsp.
(But not in xmms, which means that they are more clever)
