Look for info on editing /etc/X11/XF86Config.  At least that's where I went 
to set up the buttons 4 and 5 on my wheel mouse.  I expect that buttons 6, 
etc would be set up in the same place.

(The damned mice are getting so many buttons it's ridiculous. I'm tempted to 
put the keyboard on wheels instead!)
