Selecting text should do nothing by my plan. Grrr. I am sorry if it wasn't 
clear enough from my prior mails. This means there are no problems you 
describe by my Grand Plan ;-)

Please, review my plan again with that in mind.

Your desire to have multiple buffers is allready fulfilled by Klipper. I am 
saying that another, extra, independent X buffer is what is not needed. 
That's what's overlapping. What we have now is multiple buffers + 1 instead 
of just one multibuffered clipboard.
