The problem is not that the button is sunken. The problem is
- or the tab-like style's advantage is - that you have a better
indication that the icons on the right describe what is shown
on the right (and that you can change this by pressing one of
these icons). When you just have some buttons/icons it could
also mean that they perform actions or sth. instead of just
changing what is shown.

So I vote for tab-style.

But I find that the configuration and close buttons must differ
more from the category icons/buttons.
