Its possible that your text has some web formatting. Try pasting it in
notepad, then copying it again to paste in krita unformatted

Works here, if you use the multiline text shape. In any case, we know the text tool \
sucks, and<br> rewriting it is one of the big topics for next month&#39;s kickstarter \
