New words appear (and die), in my opinion this has to do
with how to treat terms that are derived from proper names,
as in "dent" derived from the proper name "Identi". Some
languages have a long history of integrating proper names,
even trademarks, into their vocabulary e.g. in french you
use "frigo" (derived from Frigidaire, a trademark) to design
a refrigerator, another example is "scotch" (a tape).

More recent in many languages is "goggling" and to "google".
But would one say "I'm googling for it with AltaVista"?

My language is quite conservative in this matter, we still
use "ísskápur" (literally an "ice-shelf") which dates from
before fridges had any compressors or electricity.

If "dent" is absolutely necessary, then I think an
explanation should be included in context help for both
translators and users (tooltip).

A+
