I've to agree. On one side it makes the initial entry step very easy, but this 
mean an rapid drop in quality, since everyone is doing something for 
him/herself without caring about consistency. Also those people tend to do a 
few strings and then lose interest and quit.

Someone who's really interested in helping and goes through all the 
introducing steps (reading, reading and reading), after he/she's gone through 
all these painful* reading he/she it is more likely to stay with the 
project.**



We could of course try to merge Rosetta-strings with KDE-strings, if there's 
no upstream translation available. But it's pretty easy to just remove a 
fuzzy switch and skip to the next message....
