I know :)
I have done a library for vectorbased maps and those maps contain around 1500 
map elements (lines, etc)

But still, you only have the memory consumption while you're reading or 
writing and it is a lot easier to handle.

I just wanted to suggest that developers who find the other way too 
difficult, could try the DOM way until the loading/saving parts of a library 
are implemented.
