what's the error message? On my machine it compiles fine but I see a warning 
message (saying to set up a catalogue) when I invoke the dialog, but it works 
without problems.

no, that's not the problem. I always connected the buddies manually. If you 
look at the dialog in the running application, there is an underscore under 
the labels and in the buttons but it does _not_ work.

But you pointed me to the right place to do this in qtdesigner :-) I totally 
missed it.

For the tabbed dialog pages there is no caption as you wouldn't see it anyway 
:-) And the caption for the dialog container is set in the sources.
