it should be read as "1.2". Main reason why PDF viewer has problem on several
PDFs is that it was able to view only PDF 1.2 (example: Linux Mandrake 7.2,
LM 8.0, and I believe RedHat 7.1)
[GNU] GS 6.51 was released just in June 2001, so if your distribution is
older than June 2001, I recommend to upgrade GS from www.ghostscript.com
They have SRPM for RedHat, it compiled ok onmy LM 8.0 (but placed files in
different directories)

| I usualy try with 6.50. and alternate with 5.50
|
| The problem I was addressing is that pinting a PDF file out of kghostview
| is not possible. Can you check this please.
|
| preview produces an empty page.
|
| print to file (ps,pdf) produces a very short file with some PS /PDF
| information but without actual content of the page.

I am in process of compiling KDE 2.2beta1.
I can tell you here that KGhostView was not working for me in KDE 2.2alpha2,
and I am using GV (GhostView)
Are you able to view your PDF files with "gv" on your system?
