Sure. I'm not trying to avoid learning C++, it's simply that I'm hoping 
to cut out as much of the unnecessary fluff that I don't need to know 
for KDE, so that I can better fit learning KDE development in with my 
studies (full time student).

Yes, I will do that. I have found a book called "Thinking in C++) by 
Bruce Eckel (bruceeckel.com), which is available for free download as a 
PDF, and it looks pretty reasonable. Certainly better than the Sams book 
on C I have.

It's full of explanations -- the first code doesn't come until about 
page 100 ;)

I did find a book about Qt/KDE (by Sams) in my local library, although 
it doesn't looks as extensive as some others, although I'll read through 
it some time.
