Indeed it (Compaq C++ 6.3 for Alpha Linux) compiles qt, however it failed
when trying to compile qt designer:

/home/opt/qt2/bin/uic: error while loading shared libraries: cannot
open shared object file: cannot load shared object file: No such file
or directory
make[4]: *** [listboxeditor.h] Error 127
make[3]: *** [designer] Error 2
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[1]: *** [designer] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2
