There are some bugs in KDE, that prevent a seamless use of KDE2.1 with devfs
(without compatibility mode)
To name a few:
kscd aborts without error message if there is no /dev/cdrom device.
devfs: /dev/cdroms/0
kppp does not offer the devfs names in the modem device selection menue.
devf: /dev/tts/0 (I think)
arts does not look under /dev/sound/dsp0.
artsdsp is completely unusable without a compatibility link, as it does not
offer an alternative device name setting.
I think that kmix suffers from the same problem. /dev/sound/mixer0
I can't check midi apps here.
These things could be easily fixed and should be as the new naming scheme is a
LOT simpler and easier once you get used to is. KDE2 should not slow the
adoption of devFS, IMHO.
