So you prefer KMid2 Version 1.0?

So? You'd rather prefer confusion over the difference between KMid 2 (with
space) and KMid2 (without space)?
You asked on the Usability list for feedback. Here's mine: The name is
confusing. Confusion is bad. Resolve it.

So is the new KAdressBook from KDE SC 4.4. So is KMyMoney 4.0.
So is Amarok 2.x. So are large parts of KDE SC 4.x as well.

The KDEPIM team closed all KAdressBook bugs in Mozilla as "Resolved,
Unmaintained", stating that the application has been rewritten from scratch
and any feature requests may be posted again.

Either the old KMid is still being worked on, then you should change the name
to something completely different. Or it's a continuation, then you can keep
the old name and bump the version number.
And while strictly not required as the old KMid lived in KDE's SVN as well,
out of kindness you should ask the original author if you can use the KMid
name even though the old app may be unmaintained.
