And... the trouble is, I have that:

$ yum list | grep poppler
poppler.i386            0.8.1-2.fc9  installed
poppler-devel.i386      0.8.1-2.fc9  installed
poppler-qt4.i386        0.8.1-2.fc9  installed
poppler-qt4-devel.i386  0.8.1-2.fc9  installed
poppler-utils.i386      0.8.1-2.fc9  installed

...but no pdf support. Anything else anyone can think of to check?

Also:

...and:

$ grep -i poppler CMakeCache.txt
INCLUDEPOPPLER:PATH=INCLUDEPOPPLER-NOTFOUND
INCLUDEPOPPLER_QT4:PATH=INCLUDEPOPPLER_QT4-NOTFOUND
LIBPOPPLER:FILEPATH=LIBPOPPLER-NOTFOUND
LIBPOPPLER_QT4:FILEPATH=LIBPOPPLER_QT4-NOTFOUND
//Search for Poppler package
WITH_Poppler:BOOL=ON

HAVE_POPPLER_0_6:INTERNAL=

POPPLER_INCLUDE_DIR:INTERNAL=/usr/include/poppler/qt4;/usr/include/poppler
//The Poppler-Qt4 library

Your eyes are weary from staring at the CRT. You feel sleepy. Notice how
restful it is to watch the cursor blink. Close your eyes. The opinions
stated above are yours. You cannot imagine why you ever felt otherwise.
