Just six thoughts:
1) We live in the 21 century now. Using courier fonts all over the screen is
_so_ oldschool...
2) Fixed-width fonts only work good for coding and console. Otherwise the
users love real fonts using the full featureset of variable width
text-setting.
3) Most fonts on screen look a lot better than your screenshot because
anti-aliasing is enabled.
4) Let the artists discuss these things, they even have their own mailinglist.
5) I don't really see any big difference between terminus and courier. But I
do see a big difference between your terminus screenshot and my daily-use
desktop. Guess which looks better. :-)
6) Oh, and history has shown that changing some kde-default is never a "little
change". It results in flamewars and such things...
