Amen. 

Please, please keep KDE the featureful everything-but-the-kitchen-sink desktop 
environment that it is, and suggest Gnome as an alternative for the 
reductionists. 

Consider emacs and vim: Both have become great editors, but not by following 
the same philosophy.

The only configuration items that should be (re)moved are the dangerous ones 
(move to advanced) and the truly useless ones.
