i have a kioslave (i use KDE_FORK_SLAVES) which is holding on to
/dev/hdc, my CDROM drive.
i am using AutoFS so it is not mounted, therefore i cannot send an
"unmount" because it's not in /etc/fstab it's managed by /etc/auto.misc.
the kioslave is accessing /dev/hdc and is persistent.
how do i get the kioslave to die after say... 4 seconds?
what other solutions are there?
ta,
l.

the same well: Love. If you love yourself and everyone and everything
around you, funnily and coincidentally enough, life gets a lot better.
