from my own experience of windows gaming, 9 times out of 10 i just want to 
install/play the game when i put the cd in. if the game game designers are 
worth their salt, they would ensure i would *never* have to see the inards of 
the cd. (back in the (good) old amiga days, you *couldn't* even open the disk 
so it was impossible for you to "need data-files on it". admittedly games now 
generally have to be installed, howvever this is no reason to force the user 
to manipulate game data files manuallty just to get the game to run).

in any case, there are two ways around the problem of having multiple actions 
when a disc is inserted:

1. stick with current "solution": do nothing.

2. display a dialog giving the user some intelligent choices. e.g. is user 
inserts an audio cd, detect the insertion and allow him/her to start a 
burning application stored on the hard disk or a cd playing application.

imho 2 is a far better course of action.
