I know this issue has been discussed a lot, a lot of times, but at the time I
left RedHat because they included beta versions of gcc that didn't work and
started hating KDE so much that it was almost imposible to get it to run (and
don't talk about developing), Mandrake seemed a good solution... but today,
it isn't, I've been fighting with Mandrake dependencies and strange layouts,
couldn't get KDM to work and there are other weird behaviours... and this is
remembering me too much that days of Red Hat... so, I'm done, again, I'm
going to change distribution... I heard some people talking very good about
SuSE, and aslo about Gentoo... but I would like to have it's the latest
stable version of KDE (3.0.1) and compile a KDE from CVS and chose them from
KDM, so I can start one to develop in KDE, or the other is thing are too much
inestable for dayly work, aslo to make some development of my own
applications.
I've found out that Gentoo is not a nice distribution if you are going out
trhu a slow link, isn't it ? and SuSE is a bit expensive for me right now,
but I think I'll solve that, anyway, what distributions do you use you, KDE
developers (developing kdelibs, base, or your own apps), what are you
experiences ? what do you recomend ?
Thank you.
