Great! I\'m extremely happy.  Someone understood my message.  What you envision, 
Friedrich, is exactly my sentiment!!!  You have no idea how happy I am!

The means, we have.  We just have to settle on a way of doing it, the way that 
has the most advantages, not just the \"because I liked it\" way.

The .directory issue is tricky.  I believe nautilus solves this kinda conflict 
by simply not saving a .directory - .nautilus-metadata.xml - on the directory 
in question but saving it on the $HOME in a special GNOME config dir.  This is 
also a good thing because you can apply different icons to different CDs that 
have been inserted, according to serial number.  This is great because you can 
look at the icon and know what CD is inserted, even when the CD does not have 
an autorin icon entry.
