thing is, the qt i'm running is always /usr/lib/qt, a symlink, and the 
kde i'm running is always /opt/kde, another symlink. which means that 
qt2 should be out of the loop entirely.

interestingly, i *did* lode anti-aliasing in opera with the change to 
kde3/qt3. weird.
