I like this idea too. Incidentially, you might want to assume unix means
gnome.
I saw a newbie running kpersonaliser yesterday and came across another couple
UI flaws:
1: They expected to see other languages in the 'other' field: "What if I
wanted to use German?"
2: They had no idea what to choose for the speed setting. This page looked
pretty intuitive to me but they're on a P90 and after reading the page they
left it on the default. Perhaps we could get the BogoMips or similar to set
the default so someone on a P4 2000 had a default of everything on while
someone on an old pentium had a default of everything off?
3: There was no feedback on choosing a theme, they tried all the options but
nothing seemed to be happening so they went back to the default. At the
minimum the picture on the left should be changed as the theme changes.
Better would be to have actually set the theme so they could see the change,
like in the control center with apply.
