Well, we're caught with lots of good code that doesn't work (and won't work 
for months) in HEAD and a stable version in 1.4. Not much I can do about that.

What your saying is that 1.4 won't be branched. Ok - there will not be a bug 
fix/translation branch for 1.4 then. We'll just move on with 2.2 on the 1.4 
branch. As soon as HEAD catches up I'll drop the 1.4 branch with much 
pleasure and celebration.
