Since there are no precompiled packages for Solaris AFAIK there is another 
week before we officially announce 2.1. Isn't it possible to use this week 
just for this change? Or is HEAD frozen during that week for the packagers 
for other platforms?
Otherwise, at least we have a week to PREPARE the patch. Maybe we should 
point to it in the announcement or the release notes then?

I don't know how this was done for previous releases as I wasn't really 
following development for 2.0 and before.
