This would work if KDE was done by voting. It isn't ;-) Design by voting
is wrong because sometimes the majority is wrong or not as informed as a
minority. Controversial issues are discussed here and I cannot think of
one instance where a solution wasn't found by debate. It's a private
list and everyone here wants what is good for KDE.

I actually find such debating good. Lets me yell and scream a little at
least, which always makes me feel better :) 

As far as this topic, I don't see why you seem to feel the thread calls
for a formal voting process. As far as I'm concerned the answer has
already been found, "IMHO the mac menubar is superior but
interoperability restricts it from being the default". I think most
people would agree with at least the latter, if not the former.
