Summary: [PATCH] Guidance does not use distribution LSB id for
services module, but parses /etc/issue to detect Debian
                    systems
           Product: guidance
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: sebas kde org
        ReportedBy: krzysiek lichota net

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Services module for Guidance parses /etc/issue file and searches for "Debian" string \
to identify Debian distribution. See: \
http://lxr.kde.org/source/extragear/utils/guidance/serviceconfig/serviceconfig.py?v=3.5-branch#261

This is very unreliable solution as this file can be modified by system \
administrator. And it does not work for derivatives. In such case services module \
crashes with message (in console) that it cannot find /etc/rc.d/rc0.d directory.

The more reliable and LSB-compliant way is to use LSB identifier provided by \
lsb_release command. I will attach a patch which does that.
