You can do those vertical scrolling and others by X itself. You can add so many \
buttons to mouse like if you like to cut file you can press LMB+RMB and when you want \
paste file then LMB+MMB, when you want copy file then just MMB+RMB.

I have Logitech FX trackball without scroll. i did made it use 4th button to scroll \
horizontal+vertical ways. And when its trackball it act like i would touch that by \
hand.

Just add those virtual buttons to mouse and bind them to act like you want...
