Well, things are not going well.

I installed KDE 2.1 and now Konqueror will not work on the eye4u.com
site.

I checked and I still have the plugin installed.

It is my understanding from the Konqueror web site that it no longer
uses the Java plugin.  Is this correct.

I removed the path to the plugin and put in the path to Java.

It still won't work with the Sam Donaldson show on ABCNews.com.

Note: that I have Jre 1.3_01 with JSSE installed the hard way and it
works.
