Hello friends,

I happened to ask you guys out there about using kfm as a ftp
client.

I want to get access to a site as a special user(not my username on
my local machine

I have been told to do a

ftp://username:password@ftp.somehwere.in.the.net/

But it does not work! If I go for
ftp://ftp.somehwere.in.the.net/

i get there without problems .. but not the right user (and
rights!!)

and just using

ftp://username@ftp.somehwere.in.the.net/

gets me nowhere (not to a password prompt or anywhere)

Are there some settings hidden in the KDE control center or the KFM
options I musunderstood or missed? Or am I just stupid?

Any answers welcome (even if you tell me I am stupid because ....
might be true)

Manfred
