when trying to compile several different programs (caitoo-0.6.3 and
kBeroFTPD-1.0.0), running configure prompted this output:
checking for kde libraries installed... configure: error: your program
fails at linking a small KDE application!
i read a few old posts about this problem, and looked in config.log to try to
figure out what the problem was. now i'm new to linux, and i just don't
understand crap from that file:
configure:4087: checking for KDE libraries installed
configure:4090: /bin/sh ./libtool --silent --mode=link g++ -o conftest -O2 -Wall \
-I/usr/include -I/usr/local/qt/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -s -L/usr/lib \
-L/usr/X11R6/lib conftest.C -lkdecore -lqt -lXext -lX11 -rpath /usr/lib -rpath \
/usr/X11R6/lib 1>&5
/tmp/ccU3jPvf.o: In function `main':
/tmp/ccU3jPvf.o(.text+0xa): undefined reference to `QString::latin1(void) const'
/tmp/ccU3jPvf.o(.text+0x26): undefined reference to `QString::latin1(void) const'
/tmp/ccU3jPvf.o(.text+0x42): undefined reference to `QString::latin1(void) const'
/tmp/ccU3jPvf.o(.text+0x5e): undefined reference to `QString::latin1(void) const'
/tmp/ccU3jPvf.o(.text+0x7a): undefined reference to `QString::latin1(void) const'
/tmp/ccU3jPvf.o(.text+0x96): more undefined references to `QString::latin1(void) \
const' follow
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
if someone could tell me what's wrong and what to do about it, i would be
extremely grateful. :)
thanks
jonas
