In 3.5 the setting will do the same as in 3.4.1 and before: replace the 
characters, regardless of the encoding.

The feature to replace characters that do not fit in the encoding 
remains and it is enabled by default. It can be turned off with the 
"Replace Chars Not In Current Encoding" setting under"General Options" 
in quantarc.
