I think "email client or PIM" meant a local GUI application to most, not
a webapp.

I think Horde probably had LDAP write support before? And, you also
seemed to have missed the replies covering Evolution and Kmail/Kaddressbook.

Nice.
While we're on the topic, there's an patch to KDE supporting all
configuration for KDE applications in LDAP:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101716
It still needs some work before it can be integrated into KDE CVS, and
there are some features I think should be added ... but it does work as-is.
