Update...
kde-redhat-3.5.5 installed well with no trouble and is working very well, I
can confirm bug #129161 seems fixed in 3.5.5 :)
Cheers

Actually, it's the amarok devs who were angry that I backporter the gst
engine from their development branch to the main package. I can understand
that (if they chose not to release it yet, there is a reason)

I am very very happy to say that the "clean" xine rpm just passed QA !
Expect a xine-enabled amarok package for x86_64 on your favorite mirror

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] Noisy taskbar with 3.5.5/FC5
Message: 5
I'm not sure how to grab a screenshot of this, but here's how to
reproduce ...
Start any application which runs in the system tray and opens/closes a
window when you click on it's icon, creating/removing a taskbar button
in the process. Click the tray icon a few times ...
When I do this I see visual "noise" on the taskbar when the application
window and taskbar button go away ... sometimes an image of an adjacent
taskbar button is drawn before it's blanked, sometimes a garbled, but
recognizable, image of some other part of the screen. I get this effect
with Kopete, Gaim and Skype.
I see this on two different machines, one using the proprietary NVIDIA
driver, and one the open source radeon driver. Plastik widget style,
Classic taskbar appearance, no transparency.
Can anyone else reproduce? A generic problem or FC5/kde-redhat specific?
Cheers,
Miles

I've been following the BZ# ticket about it.
Good to hear.

kde-redhat doesn't provide amarok for fedora (anymore), it's in Extras.
k3b isn't in there (yet) for fc6/x86_64 if that's what you mean, I'm
building that now...

Thanks Rex
Looking forward to reinstalling it. Just cleaned out dependancy issues
from the upgrade from fc5 xi386 to fc6 x86_64. Boy have I walked into an
upgrade nightmare. There are a whole lot of leftovers from fc5 still on
my computer. I'm going to have to clean them out manually. GCC doesn't
work, but that's not a kde-redhat issue. Hopefully, I will not have to
reinstall my OS. But if I do, then at least I will be overwriting fc6
x86_64 stuff. I haven't done that since RH 7.x. I've gotten lazy, over
the last set of OS updates. I've come to expect the upgrades to be much
smarter than this. But like I said, none of this is a kde-redhat issue,
just ranting a bit.
Oh... what about kdebindings for 3.5.5 fc6 x86_64.

Hi...
I can recreate the missing Menus and Widgets problem on FC6 (fresh install)
that myself and others saw after an upgrade from FC4 > FC6
Fully updated FC6 and kde-redhat..
Log-out of kde and drop to a shell, and run kbuildsycoca as user.
Log back in.
Kmenu has changed obviously but with many missing items as well as the missing
Widgets/Options in the "config panel" as per earlier posts in this Thread..
To get back the original Menus and Widgets restored in the Panel Config, fire
up Konsole "still logged in) and run kbuildsycoca again..
I also tested this by backing up my .local with the same results.
I don't understand why the Widgets would disappear though?
I will be interested to see if anyone else can reproduce this, a possible bug
maybe?
Cheers
Colin
