For long, I've been trying to sell an afterstep-like Wharf to KDE.  The 
exception is that KDE's will not suck :)

In fact, I've even made my desktop similar to this:

Until the kicker developers come to their senses, or I blow them away with 
kwharf, KDE is still customizable enough to let you do a lot.
