I second that Wilco. Paul, If we want users to migrate to Linux and KDE, then we
must  give them a frame of reference they are familiar with. I personaly like
the interface myself. maybe it's because I worked with it for years and am
thoroughly brainwashed.  Also keep in mind this is a GUI and an OS written in
the spare time of some very busy programmers and to acheive what they have
acheived is an awsome accomplisment. I realize you weren't casting any
disparages. Maybe this will cheer you up. KDE as with all GUI/OSs will continue
to evolve and get better and more configurable so maybe eventually, everyone 
can have their cake and eat it too. So Paul get busy and draw up a wish
list and maybe give some of your time and talent to the cause.
