Okay, after a huge search of kdecore, I'm still somewhat confused.  How does a 
program know that where its resources are, and its configuration?  I know 
this sounds stupid, but I've only seen the Windows way (put it either in the 
PATH or in the same folder as the program), and Unix-style systems seem to do 
it a different way.
