What is going on here.
I never saw these problems before

i ran make -f Makefile.cvs  without a problem after fixing the previous error 
(see list)
did make make install
i touched the makefile.am in kdebase/kdm/backend
did make install and got this.

cd ../.. && \
  /bin/sh /opt/kde-branch/kdebase/admin/missing --run automake --gnu  
kdm/backend/Makefile
aclocal.m4:3020: your implementation of AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE comes from an
aclocal.m4:3020: old Automake version.  You should recreate aclocal.m4
aclocal.m4:3020: with aclocal and run automake again.


automake (GNU automake) 1.6.3
autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.57
aclocal (GNU automake) 1.6.3
