very nice, I will have a look at it, when I get it to run. A few things I 
noticed up to now:

- you didn't make distclean or something like that (there was some 
config.cache with /home/bernd stuff at least ;)
- Pythong 1.6 is needed? 2.0 doesn't work? I hacked configure, so I can 
compile at least
- texteditor.h lacks inclusion guards, preventing compilation (noticed that 
after I did eval `includemocs` to speed up compilation).
- the python-part needed to link against pthread and db-3 (huh). Might be 
Python 2.0 related.

Too bad that it crashes on startup now:
