There is no debate really.  The short version (which you can read in earlier
comments) is that I introduced automatic window size saving into Konsole about
2 years ago following bug reports and people asking me for it at Akademy. 
Based on the data I have, most users use lots of tabs and a small number of
windows so this works well for them.  Clearly it does not work for everyone.  I
said I was okay with adding an option to turn this off and to be able to
specify pre-set sizes (in rows and columns) for new windows.

Two years later it has not been implemented yet and we have not got a complete
patch to solve the problem, though Kurt Hindenburg kindly made a start.  For
that I apologise.
