Hmmm... All these are very strange. I wonder if your problems aren't very 
specific to Mandrake RPMs. It wouldn't be the first time they quite screw the 
KDE compilation.

Unfortunately I can't help you much with this, as I don't have the problems 
at all and I don't use Mandrake RPMs.

I would strongly recommend you to search info in some larger forums (like the 
comp.windows.x.kde newsgroup or the kde-user and kde-devel mailing list) and 
maybe on Mandrake-users mailing lists.

Also, I would recommend you to keep an eye on the Mandrake upgrade ftp sites. 
It is very possible that they provide corrected packages in the near future.
