The system:
    - Linux kernel v2.2.5, Serial driver v4.27, ppp v2.3.3, kppp v1.6.3
    - Caldera OpenLinux v2.2.N
    - KDE v1.1
    - Netcomm 56k internal modem. Model number IN5692, (PCI hardware =
type modem).

The problem:
The computer cannot talk to the modem. I open kppp and click on =
"connect" then the following message appears : "Sorry, the modem is =
busy".

The modem is not busy at all. It is not doing anything.

I know the modem is ok because it works fine under Windows 98, on the =
same computer. It's port under Windows is COM 3.

Regards

Barry
