KDE apps do not register with utmp/wtmp.  who, w, last, etc. commands
do not list users logged into or any apps spawned from the kde desktop.

I am using RedHat 6.0, kernel version 2.2.5-15, glibc-2.1.1-6,
and libc-5.3.12-31.
